General Questions

How many students are currently enrolled at LCS?

LCS currently serves approximately 500 K-8th grade students across our programs. Enrollment may vary slightly from year to year.

Does our family have to attend Lifegate Church to send our kids to the school?

No – our student body consists of families from over 60 local churches and our LCS staff attend 22 different Omaha churches. We are grateful for the unity of the Body of Christ in the Omaha area and believe we’re better together!

Is LCS expensive compared to other private schools?

The short answer is no. LCS comes in around the median of what you can expect to pay for a private, Christian education in the Omaha area. Families continually tell us how pleased they are with the quality of education their kids receive at the price point we deliver.

I can’t afford to send my child to LCS - do you offer discounts or scholarships?

Our goal is to make Christian education accessible for every family. We offer tuition assistance for those who qualify through FACTS Grant & Aid. Awards range between 10%-40% and are based off of the previous year’s tax return and other lifestyle factors. Direct questions to ayost@lifegate.school.

How can I help a child attend LCS who normally wouldn’t be able to afford it?

How does LCS communicate important updates to families?

LCS communicates with families through email, text notifications, and weekly school communications such as the Friday Flyer.

Security

Does LCS have security on campus?

Yes. LCS has an armed security officer on campus during the school day to help ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.

Does LCS have security cameras inside the building?

Yes. LCS utilizes modern security camera systems throughout the building to help monitor common areas and maintain a safe school environment.

Does LCS have security cameras outside the building?

Yes. The exterior of the building is monitored by security cameras that provide visibility around the school’s perimeter.

How often are staff members’ background checked?

All staff members undergo background checks as part of the hiring process. In addition to this, the state provides us with continuous background checks for all of our licensed teachers and we would be alerted to any changes.

How can I help keep our school safe?

We believe that everyone working together creates a safer school. We welcome parents reporting anything unusual or suspicious to the main office and above all we ask for your consistent prayers for the safety, benefit and growth of every student and staff member.

Structure / Governance

What is the organizational structure of LCS?

Lifegate Christian School is a ministry of Lifegate Church, an interdenominational church with multiple campuses in the Omaha area and a 50-year history of reaching our community. Lifegate Christian School operates under the same pastoral, elder, and financial oversight as all ministries of Lifegate Church.

Is LCS run by a School Board?

Our school is proudly employee-run and benefits from sharing resources from Lifegate. LCS has a leadership team made up of school staff members and this team makes all operational decisions pertaining to the ongoing functioning of the school. The primary purpose of the LCS School Board (which consists of key LCS Staff and Lifegate Elders) is to approve the budget and oversee the hiring of the superintendent.

What is the agreement / relationship between Lifegate Church and Lifegate Christian School?

Lifegate Church and Lifegate Christian School share a long history of strong collaboration and pooling resources to advance the school’s mission of providing Christ-centered education. As a ministry of the church, the school is not responsible for facility costs like rent or utilities; instead, LCS supports the broader mission by contributing 10% of its annual budget toward shared resources and church operations.

How can I be involved as a parent?

There are lots of great opportunities to invest in the school from joining the PTO to signing up to help with special events and outings.
