We are off to a great start as we’ve kicked off the 2022-2023 school year! One of our regular rhythms here at Lifegate Christian School is chapel each Wednesday. This is a special time for our students to come together for worship and a message targeted to their age group.
Our theme verse this year is Romans 11:36 which says “For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.”
We live for an audience of One. Our goal of honoring the Lord in all we do does not stop at the Bible class or chapel, or church, or VBS, or Bible study… Jesus is in all things….. All parts of our school day, our sports, friendships, our thoughts, and what comes out of our mouths. In all those things, and in everything, we seek to honor the Lord.
Dr. Lundgren was our first chapel speaker this past Wednesday. She shared a story of a little girl who developed a severe case of polio as a child, leaving her face partially paralyzed from the illness. While grateful to survive, she struggled with feeling both a strong desire to become a teacher but fearful of having a career which required high visibility with students and parents. It took some time and wrestling in her heart, but she decided that if Jesus was “in all things”, He would be in this too.
This little girl went on to become a teacher, but she didn’t stop there. She later became a principal, a superintendent, and a professor of teacher education, who you now know more formally as our very own Dr. Michelle Lundgren! Small decisions for Jesus each day lead to an even greater impact for His kingdom. We are beyond thankful for her wisdom, guidance, and strong leadership at our school.
