We chose LCS because our kids aren’t just “a number” in the school system, they are truly cherished each and every day.

They are prayed over, equipped, taught truth, cared for, loved on, and acknowledged for who they are. Each teacher and staff member recognizes each child and shows the true meaning of grace and kindness. We are forever grateful for a school that cares about our kids and helps equip them for God’s purpose over their lives!

Question: What do you love most about LCS?
Me: Everything!
THE END.
Ha, kidding!! Kidding about ‘the end’ part… the ‘everything’ answer is truth. We love our school so much in fact that I often get emotional (can’t help it!) when talking about it. The BLESSING has been that big. This is our 6th year getting to call Lifegate Christian School HOME… it started with two years of preschool and now we’re rockin’ and rollin’ in the 3rd grade.
Can we start with the teachers? Every single teacher of ours has felt like a hero. Every one of them. My son and I have been prayed over, counseled, hugged, encouraged, and loved. Notice I said ‘my son and I’… his teachers have of course taught my son in the classroom, but they have loved US like family in real life. As busy as teachers are and as great as these educators are, all of them have taken time, numerous times, to make sure we are ok with things outside of school. Life gets crazy and hard, right? We have been loved through all the things. I am so grateful.
The education! That’s pretty important. I have not been let down. My son enjoys his days, his creativity is encouraged and praised, and I mostly appreciate a Jesus-centered curriculum. Praise God for a building filled with staff who all love Jesus and who are leading our kids to become world changers! In a world that seems upside-down and unpredictable, I can rest in the fact that for 7 hours each day, my son is in a stable and safe environment where TRUTH is spoken. Thank you, Jesus.
Do the kids have fun? YES!! Field trips, community service days, fundraisers (I promise, definitely part of the FUN list!), chapel, art, music, field day, class parties, RECESS AND HOT LUNCH, and the list goes on. One of my son’s favorite things so far this year was being ‘student of the week’ and I love that there has been some version of that in each grade. It’s good for the soul to feel special! I love seeing his friendships grow and new ones bloom. These kids care a lot for each other. In kindergarten, my son absolutely loved having a 4th grade reading buddy. He can’t wait to be on the other end and spend time with his own kindergartner soon. I’m thankful that LCS promotes friendships with all peers, all grade levels. The kids love having someone to look up to just as much as mentoring the littles. Training our kids to do life together – it’s a great thing!
I honestly could go on… LCS has been the biggest blessing for us and I am so thankful we have the opportunity to attend this school. All of the staff truly care about our children and we feel at home here. Praying for a safe, healthy, TRUTH-filled, and FUN year for all our kiddos!

When people ask me what I love most about LCS do I say the great education or the amazing teachers and staff?  Do I say lifelong friendships are formed from the day they walk in the door?  Yes, I love all of those things!  The education is top-notch and can challenge even the brightest students.  The LCS teachers are incredible.  They treat their students with respect and great care.  If a student or student’s family is going through something challenging at home, these individuals truly care, invest, and help supplement in any way needed, especially with prayer.  The class sizes are small enough to allow the teachers the opportunity to continue building their former students up as they proceed into the next grades and the Specials teachers truly are special in the way they creatively reach kids from kindergarten to 8th grade in age-appropriate ways.  The staff and administration are hospitable, responsive, engaged, and innovative.  We are blessed by their remarkable leadership.  I also love the friendships that my children are developing with other students at school that last from year to year to year.  They don’t have to be with the same teacher to continue growing their previously built relationships.  I could even give the churchy answer and say my favorite thing is their deepening relationship with Jesus as their Lord and Savior as they see it taught and modeled at school in ways that are unique but aligned to what they are learning at home.

I love each of these things more than words can express.  But the #1 item on my list is the relationships that we have formed as families and as moms.  I am so grateful for getting to do life with other like-minded families…families who encourage and support each other in good times and in struggles without judgment.  Families who SEE each other and LOVE each other.  If I am going through something at work, I can reach out to other moms I have befriended through LCS and know that I have prayer warriors in my corner.  If our kids are struggling with something or facing a battle, we rally to support those kids and families together.  I know that we are not in this alone.  We have each other to cry with and to celebrate with. As the saying goes, “It takes a village”; LCS is a village.  This is what makes LCS special.  This is what makes LCS FAMILY.
