Every fall our 8th graders have the opportunity to visit Washington DC. This year we had a group of 43 students, parents, and staff attend the trip. The four day excursion is packed full with visiting the major sites in DC plus a day spent in Gettysburg!
We visited…the Holocaust Museum, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, the Museum of the Bible, the Capitol, White House, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Wall, Korean War Memorial, Eisenhauer Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. Monument, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, and Iwo Jima.
Two highlights of the trip were attending the Nebraska Breakfast where our students got to meet both Nebraska senators and our Representatives from the house and four of our students participating in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We learned so much and made lifelong memories!
A special thank you to all of our parents who also attended and helped keep our group safe while traveling! We sure appreciate you!
